http://spacejockey.co.uk/hands-take-control?share=twitter Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been stripped off his role as captain of the club, Arsenal confirmed this afternoon in a statement they released. Aubameyang will not even be considered for selction ahead of their match against West Ham after what the club described as a ‘disciplinary breach’.
ne'er Arsenal released a statement saying:
“Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United.
“We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed.
“We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match.”
A very big call from manager Mikel Arteta. However, Arsenal need more than just big name, they need a rel leader who gives his all on the pitch. Ever since signing a big money contract with The Gunners, he hasn’t lived up to expectations at the club. A poor run of form this seaon even rubbing salts on his wounds.
If Aubameyang fails to re-discover his best form, he could be axed from the Arsenal starting XI or look for game time else where.
Other issues at the Emirates include the uncertainty that surrounds the future of French striker Alexander Lacazette. He hasn’t committed his future to the club and could leave on a free next summer.
